Come and Behold

New year, new church... not intentional, just a coincidence. It's kind of exciting, but also kind of nerve racking to go to a church for the first time. Especially, alone. You don't really know anything or anybody except the google ratings the pastor got. This church, in particular, made it easy to hide in the back of the auditorium. I'm a normal single girl who likes to spread out and not sit on top of people in the front. The service began with a few worship songs and one really stuck with me. It's by Maverick City Music and it's called Come and Behold. The Chorus manifests:
Come and Behold Him, isn't He fascinating?
Come and Behold Him, get lost in His majesty.
Come and Behold Him, isn't He captivating?
We'll keep on singing for all of eternity.
It resonated with me because I want to be "that girl". And yes, a little bit from the trendy "that girl" you see on TikTok, but also "that girl" who is completely captivated by the Lord. I want to get lost and see His beauty. I hope in 2022, I can change my whole perspective on life. Instead of dragging on with my 9-5 job and strict morning routine... I want to find beauty in travel, find confidence my self worth, find new sources of passive income, find emotional connection with friends & family, and to find a best friend in Jesus.
The passage for the sermon was from Joshua about the Israelites crossing the Jordan River. How much faith would you have to inquire to think you could cross a rushing river completely on dry ground? A lot. I think the true test of this story is the obedience the priest had when the Lord gave this command. Take the ark to the shore line (presence of God) and I will do the rest. Trust the process and trust that I am God. I want to carry God into every situation I face. The good and the bad. The pastor's quote that I took with me was "Obedience is where faith and your feet finally meet." Well... my feet are ready, Lord. I have faith in you and what you have instore for my promise land.
